FAQs
The questions that come up naturally, answered straight.
No marketing maze. Here are the distinctions worth knowing before you use YaatriGan.
What exactly does YaatriGan do?
It plans and ranks complete Indian railway journeys. Routes, seats, waitlists, quotas, fares, how late the trains usually run, whether a connection actually survives, and a simulation of the whole trip — combined into a ranked plan with the reasoning attached.
Does YaatriGan book tickets?
No. YaatriGan is a planning and decision layer. The ticket itself is bought through the official booking channel, and your booking, payment and PNR are with them, not with us.
Are Journey Success and confirmation probability the same?
No, and the difference matters. Confirmation probability is about one waitlisted ticket. Journey Success is about completing the whole journey — including delays, connections and reaching in time. A ticket can be very likely to confirm on a journey that is quite likely to fail.
Will I get connecting trains too?
Yes. Direct, one-transfer and two-transfer journeys are all considered inside sensible route limits, then filtered and ranked rather than dumped on you.
Are Ladies / Senior Citizen quotas checked?
Yes, for eligibility you declare. We compare the quotas you tell us you qualify for. We never infer eligibility about you — guessing that would be both unreliable and intrusive.
How is RLWL → GNWL even possible?
The waitlist family depends on the reservation segment, not only on the train. In some cases the same train booked from a different valid origin, while you board later, falls into a materially better waitlist family. Where that is genuinely available we show it, along with the boarding-point declaration you would have to make and the rules it interacts with.
Does YaatriGan guarantee “100%”?
No. Nothing predicted or simulated is a guarantee. Current observations, predictions and simulations are labelled as different kinds of thing precisely so that none of them can be mistaken for a promise.
What do 10,000 simulations mean?
For each candidate journey we run the trip ten thousand times. Every run draws a ticket outcome and a delay for each leg from what we know about those trains, then checks whether the connections held and whether you arrived in time. Journey Success is the share of those runs that worked.
Are special trains checked too?
Yes, where a limited-period special is known to run on your route and date. Specials appear and disappear, so they are treated as a property of the date rather than of the route.
Why can a search take a minute?
Routes appear early, but the checks that make the plan worth having — seats and fares, quotas, delay behaviour, confirmation estimates and connection safety — take real work. We use the wait to show you what is being checked, and something worth reading about your own route, rather than a dead spinner.
Can data ever be missing?
Yes. Something can be unavailable or simply unknown. When that happens you get an explicit unknown or a degraded result — never an invented number wearing the clothes of a real one.
Are my searches saved?
Your class and priority preferences are kept on your own device so the form is not empty every time. What we collect and why is set out in full in the Privacy Policy.
Is YaatriGan the official Indian Railways app?
No. It is an independent product of NutanTech Labs LLP and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Indian Railways, IRCTC or any government entity.
