PRIVACY

Privacy Policy

YaatriGan asks for very little, keeps almost none of it, and has no idea who you are. This page explains exactly what that means.

Ye page kanooni dastavez hai, isliye sirf English me rakha gaya hai — do alag-alag bhaashaon ke version aapas me farq kar sakte hain, aur tab ye tay karna padta hai ki maanya kaunsa hai. Koi bhi hissa samajhne me dikkat ho toh info@nutantechlabs.com par likhiye — hum saada bhaasha me samjha denge.

1. Who we are

YaatriGan is a railway journey-planning service operated by NutanTech Labs LLP, a limited liability partnership registered in India with its office in Ranchi, Jharkhand (“YaatriGan”, “we”, “us”). For the purposes of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we are the Data Fiduciary for the personal data described below.

You can reach us about anything in this policy at info@nutantechlabs.com.

2. What we collect

YaatriGan has no accounts. There is nothing to sign up for, we do not ask for your name, phone number, email address, PNR, ID document or payment details, and we could not link a search to a person if we wanted to.

What we do process:

  • Journey details you type — origin, destination, date, the classes you are willing to travel in, your departure window, whether you want to avoid changes, what you told us matters most (safest, fastest, cheapest), and any quota eligibility you explicitly declare, such as ladies quota or a senior / lower-berth preference.
  • Technical information that reaches any web service automatically — your IP address, browser and device type, the pages requested and when, and error diagnostics when something fails.
  • What you send us — if you email us, we have your email and whatever you chose to put in it.
Please do not send us documents. We never need a photo of an ID, a concession certificate, a disability certificate or a ticket to plan a journey. Quota eligibility is something you simply declare — a checkbox, not a document. If you email us one anyway, we will delete it.

3. What stays on your device

We do not use cookies, and we run no advertising or cross-site tracking of any kind. A few preferences are stored in your own browser’s local storage, on your device, and are never sent to us:

  • your preferred travel classes and priority, so the form is not blank every time;
  • your last search, so pressing Back does not lose the trip you were planning;
  • your light or dark theme choice;
  • your language choice.

Clearing your browser’s site data for yaatrigan.in removes all of it immediately, and needs no request to us.

4. How we use what we collect

  • To work out and rank the journeys you asked for, and to explain them.
  • To keep the service running, diagnose failures and improve reliability and speed.
  • To detect and prevent abuse of the service.
  • To answer you, if you wrote to us.

We do not sell personal data. We do not use your journey details to profile you, advertise to you or build a picture of you over time — and with no accounts, there is no “you” for us to build it against.

We process your journey details on the basis of your consent, given by entering them and asking us to plan the journey, in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. You can withdraw that consent at any time by not using the service; there is nothing stored under your name to withdraw it from.

5. Who else sees it

Railway and travel data services. To answer your question at all, we have to ask about your specific journey — so the stations, the date, the class and the quota you declared are sent onward to the railway information and travel-data services we rely on. Your IP address is not forwarded with them, and there is no name, email or identifier attached, because we do not have one.

Infrastructure providers. Hosting, content delivery and error monitoring providers process data on our instructions, under contract, only to run the service.

Legal obligations. We may disclose information where we are required to by Indian law, a court order or a lawful request from a competent authority, or where it is necessary to protect our rights or someone’s safety.

That is the complete list. There is no fourth category.

6. How long we keep it

  • Journey searches: the results of a search are cached briefly — a matter of minutes — so that repeating a search does not put needless load on the railway’s systems. After that they are discarded.
  • Technical and error logs: kept for up to 90 days for debugging, security and abuse prevention, then deleted.
  • Visit counts: we use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and measure load times. It sets no cookies, does not fingerprint your browser, and does not follow you to other sites.
  • Emails you send us: kept for as long as we need them to deal with your query and, where relevant, to show we dealt with it — and no longer than two years unless the law requires otherwise.
  • Preferences on your device: kept until you clear your browser data. We never had them.

7. Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you have the right to:

  • ask what personal data of yours we hold and how we have processed it;
  • have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected or completed;
  • have your data erased, where we are not required to keep it;
  • withdraw consent you have given;
  • nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf if you die or become incapacitated;
  • complain to us, and then to the Data Protection Board of India if we do not resolve it.

Write to info@nutantechlabs.com with “Privacy” in the subject line and we will respond within 30 days. In practice, because there are no accounts and nothing is stored against your identity, we will usually have nothing of yours to show you beyond an email you sent us — and we will tell you so plainly rather than pretend otherwise.

8. Security

Traffic to and from YaatriGan is encrypted in transit. Access to our systems is restricted to the people who need it, and we deliberately collect as little as we can, because data that was never collected cannot leak. No online service can promise absolute security, and we will not pretend to. If a personal data breach occurs, we will notify the Data Protection Board of India and affected people as the law requires.

9. Children

YaatriGan is not directed at children. We do not knowingly process the personal data of anyone under 18 without verifiable consent from a parent or guardian, as required by the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and we do not track, profile or advertise to children in any circumstance. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, tell us and we will delete it.

10. Changes and contact

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page, and for anything significant we will say so clearly in the app. Continuing to use YaatriGan after a change means you accept the updated policy.
